Make love your bottom line
Mother Teresa spread love everywhere she went. It was her mission on earth to look after and give love to those in the world who had been neglected, discarded, forgotten. Wanting nothing for herself, she simply wanted people to feel loved and cared for.
Not an easy task in a world that can so easily turn away from those in need, shunned and looked past on the path to individual success.
No one is expecting you or I to be Mother Teresa. But we could all use a major dose of her spirit in our livelihood undertakings. If you looked at your work in the world, what would you see in terms of your bottom line? For most it’s profit, making the money to keep the lights on, the bills paid and inject a few pleasures if we are so lucky.
For others, it’s purpose, their own purpose in the world, or a greater purpose like service that drives them. And for some, it’s people, taking care of those who are either in their employ, customer base or community.
There are all worthy aspects of our bottom line, and important too.
But what if we added another. What if, along with profit, purpose and people, we injected love into the mix? What if love actually became our bottom line, the ultimate thing that drove our actions in the world?
Can you imagine? With love guiding our decisions, our actions, and our motives, the world could not help but be changed. We would be changed.
If every single person, activity, interaction, meeting, partnership, product, service, performance appraisal, and client was injected and infused with love as the primary goal?
The vibration of the entire world would be lifted out the darkness.
